Time 20m

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 pkg shredded coleslaw mix (or 4 cups fresh shredded green and purple cabbage, and carrot)
1/4 c scallions, chopped
1/4 c fresh cilantro, chopped
2 Tbsp honey
1 Tbsp sugar
juice of 1 lime
2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
1/2 c mayonnaise
1 Tbsp mustard
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp celery salt
1/2 tsp pepper

Steps:

  • 1. In a small bowl, combine the honey, sugar, lime juice, vinegar, mayo, mustard, onion powder, celery salt and black pepper.
  • 2. In a large bowl, add the coleslaw mix and scallions.
  • 3. Add the mayo mixture to the cabbage, and blend well.
  • 4. Chill until ready to serve.

Tips:

  • Use fresh, high-quality ingredients. This will make a big difference in the flavor of your coleslaw.
  • Shred the cabbage and carrots finely. This will help them absorb the dressing better.
  • Be sure to rinse the shredded cabbage and carrots well before adding them to the coleslaw. This will remove any excess starch and help prevent the coleslaw from becoming soggy.
  • Use a light hand when adding the dressing. You can always add more dressing later, but it's difficult to remove it once it's been added.
  • Let the coleslaw chill for at least 30 minutes before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld together.
  • Garnish the coleslaw with fresh herbs, such as parsley, cilantro, or chives. This will add a pop of color and flavor.

Conclusion:

Coleslaw is a versatile dish that can be served as a side dish, a main course, or a snack. It's a great way to use up leftover cabbage and carrots, and it's a healthy and refreshing dish that's perfect for any occasion.
