Cauliflower and Lettuce Salad image

I've had this recipe for many years. It was given to me by two Amish sisters who lived in the tiny community where I grew up.

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 lettuce head
1 cauliflower head
1 medium sweet onion
2 c mayonnaise
1/4 c sugar
1 Tbsp vinegar
1 lb bacon -cooked and crumbled
1/2 c parmesan cheese
salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • 1. Tear up lettuce and put in the bottom of a large bowl. Break up cauliflower into bite size peices and add on top of lettuce, onion on cauliflower and bacon on onion. In a small bowl, mix mayo, sugar, vinegar, salt and pepper to taste. Stir until sugar is disolved. Spread on top of bacon then sprinkle parmesan cheese on top. DO NOT MIX until ready to serve.
