Chicken Curry Pies image

Since moving to South Africa my kids have taken a liking to meat pies, so I have been experimenting with my own ideas. We all love this one!

Yield 8 mini pies, 8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 11

2 pie crusts, cut into 1/4 's
2 tablespoons oil
2 lbs ground chicken
2 teaspoons minced garlic
2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger
2 teaspoons salt
1 1/2 teaspoons turmeric
1/2 teaspoon coriander
1 1/2 teaspoons cumin
1 diced onion
14 1/2 ounces chopped tomatoes

Steps:

  • Saute onions in oil until tender. Add garlic and ginger and saute 30 sec.
  • Add spices and stir together. Add tomatoes and 1/2 c water. Stir.
  • Add chicken and cook through.
  • Done when the water is cooked out.
  • Put 2 T of meat on ea. piece of pie crust. fold over and seal.
  • Bake at 400 for 10-12 minute.
