Easy Swiss Chard image

This is a simple way to prepare Swiss chard or rainbow chard which makes a great side for meat or fish dishes.

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 tablespoon butter
1 bunch red Swiss chard, stems and center ribs cut out and chopped together, leaves coarsely chopped separately
salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
1 pinch ground nutmeg, or to taste

Steps:

  • Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat and cook chard stems until softened, about 4 minutes. Add leaves and cook until wilted, about 5 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
