I always loved to make this breakfast casserole whenever I had overnight guests. It can be put together the night before and then baked in the morning while the coffee's brewing.

Number Of Ingredients 9

4 slice bread
1 lb bulk sausage
1/4 c butter, melted
6 eggs
1 c cheddar cheese, shredded
1/2 tsp dry mustard
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 c milk
1 tsp minced onion (optional)

Steps:

  • 1. Spray a 13x9" pan with cooking spray. Place the cubed bread in bottom of pan and pour melted butter over cubed bread.
  • 2. Brown the sausage; drain. Place over bread. Mix all other ingredients and pour over sausage.
  • 3. Chill overnight. Bake in a 375-degree oven for 35 minutes. Serve with half a grapefruit or some fresh berries for a delicious "company" breakfast.
