Grilled Goats Cheese With Fresh Figs image

Very quick and easy to make. I made this up myself last night and tested it on husband Paul - we both loved it.

Time 5m

Yield 2 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 4

200 g goat cheese
2 fresh figs
balsamic vinegar
olive oil

Steps:

  • Use two 100g goats cheese rounds for this recipe.
  • Place the goats cheese on a lightly oiled baking tray. Drizzle a little olive oil on top of each cheese.
  • Cut the stem part off each fig and discard.
  • Now slice each fig into about 3 slices.
  • Place on the baking tray with the goats cheese and drizzle a little balsamic vinegar onto the figs (not onto the cheese).
  • Place under a hot grill for just a couple of minutes until the cheese starts to bubble.
  • Serve as a starter. Yum Yum!
  • **PS: If I manage to get my photo on here for this recipes you will see I've slightly cooked the cheese too long. Not that it matters but it doesn't look as nice on the plate as it should do. Ooops!

I didn't have any fresh figs, so I used dried figs instead. They worked just as well.

I'm allergic to goat cheese, so I had to use a different type of cheese. I think it turned out just as well.

I'm not usually a fan of goat cheese, but this recipe changed my mind. The cheese was perfectly grilled and had a wonderful smoky flavor. The figs were also delicious and added a touch of sweetness.

This dish was a delightful explosion of flavors! The sweetness of the figs and the tanginess of the goat cheese complemented each other perfectly. I loved the contrast between the warm, grilled cheese and the cool, crisp figs.
