Microwave Bread and Butter Pudding image

I foudn this recipe yesterday and made it stright away. I am posting it so that I don't lose the recipe as it can be made last minute. I used the end of the challa, instead of brioche. Use whatever you have handy. I think next time I might pop it under te grill for that crispy topping you don't get in the microwave.

1 egg
2 slices brioche bread, hallah, croissant, buttered
25 g caster sugar

  • Add dried fruit.
  • Whisk together the egg, milk, cream, vanilla extract and cream.

  • Micorwave on medium power for 4 - 5 minutes until it begins to set at the edges.
  • Let it stand for 5 minutes and then serve with cream or custard and a big grin.

This bread and butter pudding was so easy to make and it turned out so delicious! I used a 9x13 inch pan and it was the perfect size. I also added a little bit of cinnamon and nutmeg to the custard mixture, which gave it a really nice flavor.
