MOLASSES OATMEAL COOKIES image

1/2 c. shortening
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. milk
1/2 c. molasses
1 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. old fashioned oatmeal
1 tsp. soda
1/2 c. nuts (opt.)
1/2 c. raisins (opt.)

Steps:

  • Cream together the shortening, sugar and cinnamon. Beat in molasses and egg. Beat in flour and baking soda alternately with milk. Stir in oatmeal and mix thoroughly. Add raisins and or nuts if using. Drop by teaspoonful on greased baking sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.
