New York System's Hot Wiener Sauce (Copycat) image

This is a hot dog sauce that if you've ever lived or been to RI and had a "New York Systems Hot Wiener" you know how good this is.

Number Of Ingredients 14

1/2 lb ground beef
1/4 cup oil
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1 teaspoon salt
4 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon celery salt
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon marjoram
3/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon thyme
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1 quart water

Steps:

  • Brown ground beef, drain grease.
  • Add to kettle with remaining ingredients. Simmer all for 2 hours without covering.
