3/4 cup flour
5 tablespoons butter (softened)
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1/4 cup sugar
2 (20 ounce) cans sliced apples, drained
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon apple pie spice
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Mix apples, 1/2 cup sugar, apple pie spice, 1/4 cup brown sugar, salt, and flour together, stir well. Pour into a lightly buttered 8" x 8" baking dish.
  • Place the topping ingredients together in a bowl. Mix the flour, salt, sugars and blend well. Add and work in the softened butter to the topping ingredients. Mixture should look like coarse meal. Sprinkle over apples and place in a preheated oven at 350F for 30 - 35 minutes.
  • Serve topped with your favorite vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of caramel sauce.
