One Dish Macaroni Beef image

My mom got this recipe from a microwave cooking cookbook back in the '70s. This was one of my favorites as a kid. I make it for my kids and they love it just as much as I did/do!

Number Of Ingredients 10

1/2 lb ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 c uncooked macaroni
1 can(s) tomato sauce, 8oz
1 1/2 c water
1/3 c ketchup
1 can(s) kernel corn, 7oz, undrained
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 Tbsp pepper
1/4 tsp chili powder

Steps:

  • 1. Crumble ground beef in 2 quart glass casserole and stir in onion.
  • 2. Cover with glass lid or plastic wrap. Microwave on high for 3 minutes.
  • 3. Drain and stir in remaining ingredients. Recover.
  • 4. Microwave on defrost for 30-35 minutes or until macaroni is tender. Let stand covered for 5 minutes before serving.
  • 5. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese, if desired, and enjoy!
