In November of 2002 I had surgery. I had a friend make these for me for Thanksgiving. They were about the only thing I could handle. These are so delish!! They are warm, sweet, buttery and gooey!! Can be eaten warm with ice cream!!

Number Of Ingredients 4

2 pkg grands flakey layers butter tastin' biscuits
1 c butter
2 c sugar
2 oranges, juiced & zested

Steps:

  • 1. Spray a 9x13 pan with pam. Place all but 1 (you can add it if you want to but I like uniformity) biscuit in pan.
  • 2. In a medium microwavable dish, melt butter. Juice and zest both oranges.
  • 3. To the melted butter, add the sugar, juice and zest. Stir well and pour over the top of the biscuits. The biscuits will float a little but that is okay.
  • 4. Bake at 375* for 25-30 minutes. The tops should be nice and golden and the bottom of the biscuits should soak up the liquid. There should not be any raw dough on the bottom of the biscuits.

These biscuits are a bit time-consuming to make, but they're definitely worth the effort. They're so light and fluffy, and the orange flavor is amazing.

I'm not a huge fan of orange flavored baked goods, but these biscuits were surprisingly good. The orange flavor was not overpowering and the biscuits were moist and fluffy.

The biscuits were a bit dry for my taste. I think I'll add a little more butter next time.
