ORANGE POPPY SEED SALAD DRESSING image

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 1/2 tsp finely grated orange peel
2 Tbsp orange juice
2 Tbsp Champagne vinegar
1 Tbsp finely chopped onion
Dash pepper
*2 Tbsp sugar
*2 Tbsp (heaping) orange marmalade
2 tsp triple sec or other orange liquer
1/2 tsp salt
1/3 cup salad oil or light olive oil
1 tsp poppy seed
*OR 3 Tbsp sugar, omit marmalade

Steps:

  • Whirl first 9 ingredients in a food processor. Add oil in slow stream and blend until thickened. Stir in poppy seed. Let stand 1/2 hour before serving or chill for a couple of days. Bring to room temp before using. *Note the possible replacement of orange marmalade with extra sugar if desired. Serve over leafy green salad and/or salad with fruit.
