- Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until rendered and crisp, about 5 minutes. Turn off the heat so the pan doesn't splatter when you add the peas (they can come straight from the freezer). Stir in the peas and turn the stove back on to heat them through, about 1 minute. Season with salt to taste.
