Yield Makes 6 servings

Number Of Ingredients 4

2 1/2 to 3 pounds asparagus, trimmed and peeled
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
Salt to taste
Lemon wedges

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat the oven to 450°F, preheat the broiler or a gas grill, or start a charcoal or wood fire. If you're roasting or broiling, place the asparagus in a roasting pan and drizzle with a tablespoon or two of oil; sprinkle with salt. If you're grilling, brush the asparagus with oil and sprinkle with salt. Place in the oven, under the broiler, or on the grill.
  • 2. Roast or grill, turning the spears once or twice, just until the thick part of the stalks can be pierced with a knife, 10 to 15 minutes. Broiling time will be shorter, taking 5 to 10 minutes total. Serve immediately or at room temperature, with lemon wedges.

This recipe is too bland for my taste. I like my roasted asparagus to have a little more flavor. I usually add some garlic and lemon zest to the asparagus before roasting.

I'm not sure why, but my roasted asparagus always turns out soggy. I've tried following the recipe exactly, but I can't seem to get it right.

I tried this recipe with grilled asparagus, and it was equally delicious. I think the grilled asparagus had a slightly smokier flavor, which I really enjoyed.

This recipe is a great way to use up leftover asparagus. I had some leftover from a stir-fry, and I roasted it following this recipe. It was a delicious and easy side dish.

I'm not a big fan of asparagus, but I tried this recipe and was pleasantly surprised. The roasted asparagus was tender and flavorful, and I actually enjoyed it.

I added some grated Parmesan cheese to the asparagus before roasting, and it was delicious! I'll definitely be making this again.

I've tried this recipe with both broiled and roasted asparagus, and I prefer the roasted method. The asparagus comes out more evenly cooked and has a more intense flavor.

Roasted asparagus is a delicious and versatile side dish that pairs well with grilled salmon or roasted chicken. I love the slightly charred edges and the tender-crisp texture of the asparagus.
