I love watching my fellow California Canadian on our local cable station and the Discovery Health Network. His mission is to make cooking accessible and easy and delicious.

Time 20m

Yield 6-8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

1/2 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup sake
1 garlic clove, minced
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
1 whole lemon, juice of
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 large salmon fillet, about 2 pounds

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients except the salmon in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
  • Turn down heat and simmer for a few minutes until syrupy.
  • Turn oven to broil. Cover a large baking sheet with foil, it's messy.
  • Place salmon on the foil and baste well with the sauce.
  • Broil the salmon depending on thickness about 10-15 minutes until done.
  • Baste a couple of times during cooking. If it starts to get crispy and a little bit black, that's good.

Not a fan of the sauce, but the salmon was cooked well.

The salmon was a bit dry, but the sauce was good.

This recipe is a great way to use up leftover salmon. I had some cooked salmon in my fridge, and I wasn't sure what to do with it. I found this recipe and decided to give it a try. The salmon cakes were delicious, and they were a hit with my family.

I love how easy this recipe is to follow. I'm not a very experienced cook, but I was able to make this dish without any problems. The salmon turned out great, and my husband raved about it.

This salmon recipe is a keeper! The fish was cooked perfectly, and the sauce was flavorful without being overpowering. I served it over rice, and it was a hit with my family. Will definitely make this again.
