Savory Apple Pinwheels image

These scrumptious pinwheels are a delicious appetizer. They'd even be good for brunch. The sweet apples are a nice contrast with the savory dough and spices. Number Of Ingredients 8

2 can(s) refrigerated crescent rolls
1 pkg cream cheese, softened (8 oz)
2 apples, any type, cored and chopped
1/2 bunch chives
1 1/4 tsp cumin
1 tsp salt
3 dash(es) pepper
1/2 c salted cashews, chopped

Steps:

  • 1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix all ingredients except crescent roll dough.
  • 2. Mix the filling well.
  • 3. Unroll both the cans of dough and cut each in half. You should have 4 sections. Pinch together the seams.
  • 4. Cover with "spread" until there is just about 1/4-1/2 inch left at end of dough.
  • 5. Roll up and pinch seam. Cut into 6 slices using a serrated knife.
  • 6. Place on baking sheet and bake for 15 mins or until golden brown.
