Savory Tuna Tempter image

This tuna casserole will tempt you! It's not your mother's tuna casserole; it's a spiffed up version that is sure to please. Give this a try when you have a taste for tuna! You'll be glad you did when you taste this easy and delicious dish.

1/2 cup celery, chopped
1/4 cup onion, chopped
5 tablespoons butter, divided
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
1 1/2 cups milk, divided
1 (12 ounce) can tuna, drained
1 cup finely shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
8 ounces medium egg noodles, cooked
10 round Ritz crackers, crumbled

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 2-quart casserole with cooking spray.
  • Place the cooked noodles in the prepared casserole.
  • Saute the celery and onion in 2 tablespoons of the butter. Add the remaining ingredients (except the noodles) and mix together well.
  • Pour tuna mixture over the noodles and toss lightly to coat.
  • Sprinkle the crumbs on toop and dot with the remaining 3 tablespoons of butter.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes, until bubbly.
