Simple Chocolate Buttercream image

You only need five ingredients to make this decadent chocolate frosting.

Yield Makes 4 cups

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 1/2 pounds (6 sticks) butter, softened
1 pound confectioners' sugar, sifted
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
5 tablespoons semisweet chocolate chips, melted and cooled

Steps:

  • In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, combine the butter, sugar, vanilla and salt. Begin beating on low speed, increasing to high for 2 minutes, scraping down the sides of the bowl occasionally. Stir in melted chocolate.

This frosting is not good. It's too runny and it doesn't have much flavor.

This frosting is a bit too sweet for my taste, but it's still very good. I would recommend using less sugar if you're not a fan of overly sweet desserts.
