Slow Cooker Beef Shanks With Mushrooms and Potatoes image

I found this recipe on another website and altered it to my liking. The beef falls off the bone and its juices are absorbed into the potatoes. This is one of my favorite crock pot dishes.

I would give this recipe 5 stars if the beef shanks weren't so tough.

I would recommend using a slow cooker with a timer function. That way, you can set it and forget it.

I followed the recipe exactly and the beef shanks were overcooked. I think I should have cooked them for less time.
