Southern Green Beans & Bacon image

This is definitely an unhealthy old southern recipe that we continue to make for all large family gatherings. My oldest son (age 23) makes this when he goes to friends' homes. He said he's never had any left to bring home.

This recipe is a classic for a reason. The green beans are always tender and flavorful, and the bacon adds a delicious smoky flavor. I always make this recipe when I'm having a potluck or dinner party.

I'm not a big fan of green beans, but I actually really enjoyed this recipe. The bacon added a lot of flavor, and the beans were cooked perfectly.

This recipe is a great starting point, but I like to add a few things to make it my own. I usually add some chopped onion and garlic, and I also like to use a mix of green beans and yellow beans.

I followed the recipe exactly, but my green beans turned out mushy. I think I cooked them for too long.

These green beans were a bit bland for my taste. I think I would add more salt and pepper next time.

I love this recipe! It's so easy to make, and the green beans are always perfect. I also like that I can add other ingredients, like onions or garlic, to change up the flavor.
