STRAWBERRY AND POPPY SEED SALAD image

Salad:
8 cups torn romaine lettuce
4 cups torn Boston Lettuce or baby salad greens from salad bags
1 1/2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup toasted chopped pecans
Poppy Seed Dressing:
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup cider vinegar
2 tsp. poppy seeds
1/4 tsp. salt
pinch of nutmeg

Steps:

  • Dressing: combine oil, sugar, vinegar, poppy seeds, salt and nutmeg in a jar with a tight-fitting lid; shake well. Just before serving, toss salad greens into a large salad bowl; add strawberries, cheese and toasted pecans. Toss to combine. Drizzle with dressing, toss again. Serve.
