Stuffed Dates image

I found this recipe looking for Middle Eastern recipes for ZWT6 and realized that as far back as I can remember this was exactly the way my mom and paternal grandmother made stuffed dates for the holidays using our Louisiana pecans. So very good considering its simplicity.

15 pitted dates
15 toasted almonds (toasting is optional) or 15 pecans (toasting is optional)
powdered sugar, for dusting

Steps:

  • Stuff dates with one almond or pecan per date. Roll in powdered sugar.
  • Place on wax paper in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
