Swiss Steak image

This is such an easy and tasty swiss steak and the gravy is very good over mashed potatoes or rice.

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 - 1/2 lb round steak, tenderized
1 small green pepper, cut into strips
1 small onion, cut into rings
1 can(s) golden mushroom soup (do not substitute)
1 #2 can tomatoes

Steps:

  • 1. Cut steak into squares; flour, salt and pepper. Brown in a skillet with little oil. Mix the soup and tomatoes together and pour over the meat; add onion rings and bell pepper strips on top. Cook about an hour on very low or until steak is tender. Serve over mashed potatoes or rice.
  • 2. This could be baked in the oven at 300 degrees for about 2 - 2/12 hours or in a crock pot. I baked this in the oven for about 2 1/2 hours.
