- break up beef in a dutch oven. add onion, garlic, bell pepper and celery. cook until beef is browned and vegetables are tender. add tomatoes, chili powder, sugar, accent, bay leaf, oregano, basil and hot sauce. cook for 30 minutes. add beans. cook 15 minutes longer.
