1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
1 onion, finely diced
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon hot pepper flakes
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained (796 ml)
1 (19 ounce) can chickpeas, drained and rinsed (540 ml)
1 teaspoon paprika
1 (8 ounce) bag spinach, I don't use it (optional)

Steps:

  • In large saucepan, heat the oil over medium-high heat; saute onion, garlic, oregano, hot pepper flakes and salt until onion is softened, about 4 minutes.

  • Serve.

I would give this recipe a 3 out of 5 stars. It's a good basic recipe, but it needs a little something extra to make it really shine.

Overall, I thought this recipe was just okay. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything special either.

I found this recipe to be a bit too spicy for my taste. I would recommend using less chili powder or cayenne pepper.

I'm not sure what I did wrong, but my dish turned out really bland. I think I might have added too much water.

I'm not a huge fan of chickpeas, but I really enjoyed this dish. The tomatoes and spices really helped to balance out the flavor of the chickpeas.

I made this dish exactly as the recipe says and it turned out great. The only thing I would change is to add a little bit of spice. I like my food a little bit spicy, so I would probably add a teaspoon of cumin or chili powder.
