Zeppoli image

What can I say about these...hmmm...fantastically delicious. We use to have so much fun making these.

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 c flour
1 pkg yeast or 2 1/4 teaspoon
1 c lukewarm water
1 egg
1 tsp salt
oil for deep frying

Steps:

  • 1. Mix everything in a bowl and cover, let rise for 15 minutes.
  • 2. Heat oil for deep frying.
  • 3. Drop mixture by tablespoon into oil and fry until golden.
  • 4. Drain on paper towels or wire rack. Or you can just drop them right into powdered sugar or sugar/cinnamon.
  • 5. For added varieties, you can add shredded lemon or orange rind to the mix
