Baked Italian Sausages image

This is a great way to cook Italian sausages! Just a few minutes of prep time and they only get checked and turned once... then leave them alone until done! We love these for sandwiches or as a side with pasta.

Time 1h5m

Number Of Ingredients 3

12 italian sausages (sweet, mild or hot)
1/2 c water
salt, pepper, garlic powder and italian seasoning (to taste)

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • 2. Place sausages into baking pan (13x9). Add water. Sprinkle with spices.
  • 3. Bake uncovered for 20 minutes. Turn sausages over and return to oven for about 40 minutes more or until the sausages are a beautiful color like the ones in my photo.
  • 4. Serve as you desire. I like these with veggies and sauce on Italian or French bread with hot peppers (Chicago Style!) Or serve with your favorite pasta dish like spaghetti.

This recipe is a great starting point, but I like to add some additional spices to the sausages. I also like to use a variety of peppers and onions, depending on what I have on hand.

I followed the recipe exactly and the sausages turned out dry and overcooked. I think I'll try cooking them at a lower temperature next time.

This is a great recipe for a quick and easy weeknight meal. The sausages are cooked in the oven so there's no need to babysit them. I usually serve it with rice and a side of vegetables.

This recipe was a bit too spicy for my taste, but I still enjoyed it. I think I'll try using a milder sausage next time.
