10 leftover biscuits (3-inch diameter)
3/4 cup apple butter
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1-1/2 cups cubed fully cooked ham
1/4 cup minced fresh parsley
6 large eggs
2-1/2 cups 2% milk
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground mustard

Steps:

  • Cut biscuits crosswise in half. Spread apple butter over cut sides of biscuits. Replace tops. Cut each biscuit into quarters; arrange in a single layer in a greased 13x9-in. baking dish. Top with cheese, ham and parsley., In a large bowl, whisk eggs, milk, salt, pepper and mustard. Pour over biscuits. Cover and refrigerate overnight., Preheat oven to 325°. Remove strata from refrigerator while oven heats. Bake, uncovered, until puffed and edges are golden brown, 50-60 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before cutting.

8 refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
1 (21 ounce) can premium apple pie filling
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup light brown sugar or 1/2 cup Splenda brown sugar blend
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 -3 tablespoons half-and-half cream or 1 -2 teaspoon whole milk

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  • Melt the butter, and brush on all sides of your round baking dish.
  • In a bowl, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon until blended.
  • Dip each biscuit in the butter, and sprinkle all sides with the cinnamon sugar mixture and place in baking dish.
  • Place the apple pie filling on top of the biscuits.
  • Pour the remaining butter over all and sprinkle the remaining cinnamon-sugar on top.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, until golden and puffy.
  • I do not use the glaze but if you like a glaze on these, mix together the ingredients for the glaze and drizzle on top.

4 medium cooking apples, coarsely chopped (4 cups)
1 large onion, chopped (1 cup)

1/2 teaspoon salt
2 1/4 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons sugar
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons firm butter or margarine, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese (6 oz)
2 medium green onions, finely chopped (2 tablespoons)
1 cup buttermilk

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 425°F. Spray bottom and sides of 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish with cooking spray or grease with shortening. In 12-inch skillet, cook sausage, apples and onion over medium-high heat 8 to 10 minutes, stirring frequently, until sausage is no longer pink; drain if necessary. Spoon into baking dish.
