⅔ cup white sugar
2 cups self-rising flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ cup chopped walnuts
2 eggs, beaten
½ cup margarine, melted
1 apple - peeled, cored and finely chopped
½ cup shredded Cheddar cheese
¼ cup milk

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  • In a large bowl, combine the sugar, flour, cinnamon walnuts, apples, and cheese. Add the eggs, melted butter or margarine, and milk; stir until well blended. Pour into prepared loaf pan.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour, or until done. If loaf starts to brown too much, cover with foil.

1 9" unbaked pie shell
1/2 cup unbleached flour
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar, Firmly Packed
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, Ground
5 tablespoons butter
1 1/2 lbs cooking apples (Use a cooking apple such as Granny Smith's. Core, peel and thinly)
1 tablespoon lemon juice, Fresh
6 ounces cheddar cheese, Md, Shredded,1 1/2 C
4 teaspoons unbleached flour
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, Ground

Steps:

  • Make a high rim around the pie crust.
  • Combine all the dry ingredients in the topping and cut in the butter until crumbly.
  • Set aside.
  • Toss the apples and lemon juice together and add the cheese, flour, and nutmeg, tossing and mixing well.
  • Arrange the apples in the crust and sprinkle on the topping.
  • Bake in a preheated 375 degree F. oven for 40 to 50 minutes.
  • Serve warm with Vanilla Ice Cream if desired.

4 cups sliced peeled Granny Smith apples
1 tablespoon water
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 cup white sugar
¾ cup all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 cup confectioners sugar
1 teaspoon coarse salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
1/4 teaspoon paprika
12 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into 1/2-inch pieces, chilled
1/2 cup coarsely chopped pecans
4 ounces sharp white Cheddar cheese, grated (about 2 cups)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees with rack positioned in the center. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, mix together flour, cornstarch, confectioners' sugar, salt, pepper, and paprika. Using your fingers, two knives, or a pastry blender, mix in the butter until the mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle pecans and cheese over mixture and gently toss to combine.
