PEACH KUCHEN BARS RECIPE - (4.7/5)

Peach Kuchen Bars Recipe - (4.7/5) image

Provided by foodfixer

Number Of Ingredients 13

Crust:
1 cup butter melted
2 cups flour
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
1 cup sugar
Filling:
Peaches or any fruit you wish
Custard:
4 eggs, well beaten
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 TBSP flour
1 3/4 cup whipping cream

Steps:

  • For crust mix listed ingredients together and spread on a greased jelly roll pan. Cover crust with peeled cut up peaches. For custard mix all together (add cream last). Pour over peaches. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.

Tips:

  • Use a variety of apples for a more complex flavor. Baking apples, such as Granny Smith, hold their shape well and provide a tart flavor, while sweeter apples, such as Honeycrisp or Gala, add a touch of sweetness.
  • Be sure to peel and core the apples before slicing them. This will help to prevent the bars from becoming too mushy.
  • If you don't have any lemon juice on hand, you can substitute vinegar or even water.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing can make the bars tough.
  • Bake the bars until the crust is golden brown and the apples are tender. Insert a toothpick into the center of the bars; if it comes out clean, they are done.
  • Let the bars cool completely before cutting them into squares. This will help to prevent them from falling apart.
  • Serve the bars with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Conclusion:

Apple kuchen bars are a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that is perfect for any occasion. With a flaky crust, tender apples, and a sweet crumb topping, these bars are sure to be a hit with everyone who tries them. So next time you're looking for a special treat, give apple kuchen bars a try. You won't be disappointed!
