APPLE, RAISIN, WALNUT CAKE

Apple, Raisin, Walnut Cake image

The girls and boys in my junior high home economics classes like this cake because it's not too sweet. I like it because it has high fiber and nutritional value-the apples are used unpeeled. Parents who have apple trees are always glad to donate the apples!

EASY CINNAMON APPLE RAISIN BREAD

Easy Cinnamon Apple Raisin Bread image

This is an easy and delicious bread to prepare. Even better you only need one mixing bowl because you can throw all of the ingredients right in! Feel free to tweak the ingredients to your liking...add more cinnamon...add nuts, etc. I hope you enjoy it! Edited: I have also tried out the bread by using 1/2 whole wheat pastry flour and 1/2 regular flour, a tbl of wheat germ and less sugar to make it a tiny bit "healthier". It came out just as nice as the original.

Tips:

  • Mise en Place: Before you start baking, make sure you have all your ingredients and equipment ready. This will help the baking process go smoothly and efficiently.
  • Fresh Ingredients: Use fresh, high-quality ingredients whenever possible. This will make a big difference in the flavor and texture of your loaf.
  • Properly Measure Ingredients: Use measuring cups and spoons to accurately measure your ingredients. This will ensure that your loaf turns out perfectly.
  • Creaming Butter and Sugar: When creaming butter and sugar, beat them together until they are light and fluffy. This will help incorporate air into the mixture, resulting in a lighter and more tender loaf.
  • Do Not Overmix: Be careful not to overmix the batter. Overmixing can result in a tough, dense loaf.
  • Properly Grease and Flour Pan: Before pouring the batter into the pan, grease and flour it thoroughly. This will prevent the loaf from sticking to the pan.
  • Baking Time and Temperature: Bake the loaf according to the recipe's instructions. The baking time and temperature will vary depending on the size and shape of your loaf pan.
  • Cooling: Once the loaf is done baking, let it cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Serve it warm with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of ice cream for a truly indulgent treat.
