4 tablespoons butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/8 teaspoon salt
3 large apples, peeled, cored, cut into crescent slices

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Cream toghether butter and sugar. Add egg and beat.
  • Sift together flour, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  • Beat dry ingredients into butter mixture.
  • Stir apples into batter, which will be thick and hard to stir.
  • Turn into a buttered 9" pie pan and spread smooth.
  • Bake for 1 hour, until just brown.

1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons Kona coffee liquid, chilled
3 large apples, peeled and sliced
1 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
1 tablespoon flour
1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon fresh ground Kona coffee
3 tablespoons butter, cut into small pieces
Sauce, recipe follows
1/4 cup brewed espresso
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon coffee liqueur

Steps:

  • Crust: In a mixing bowl cream the butter, brown sugar, flour, and ground coffee together. Process until mixture is evenly fine textured. Add the nuts. In a separate bowl, combine the vanilla and coffee liquids together, then add them to the nut mixture. Process only until mixed, do not overprocess. Turn mixture into 9-inch pie plate, spread, and press evenly and lightly over the bottom and sides. Filling: Arrange apple slices around the edge of the crust-covered pan. Chop some pieces into cubes for the center. In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, flour, nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, and coffee, and pour over the apples. Dot the butter over the top. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Bake for 10 minutes, and then reduce the oven temperature to 350 F. Bake 15 minutes more, until the apple begins to bubble. Place puddle of sauce in plate and set torte slice on top of sauce and serve.
  • Combine sauce ingredients in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave for 3 minutes. Stir until smooth and chill.

1 cup flour
1 (250 g) package PHILADELPHIA Brick Cream Cheese, softened
1 egg
½ teaspoon vanilla

4 each Granny Smith or Golden Delicious apples, peeled, sliced
¼ cup sliced almonds

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 425 degrees F. Beat butter and 1/3 cup of the sugar in small bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Add flour; mix well. Spread onto bottom and 1 inch up side of 9-inch springform pan.
  • Beat cream cheese and 1/3 cup of the remaining sugar in same bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Add egg and vanilla; mix well. Spread evenly over crust. ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
½ cup white sugar
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
¼ cup white sugar
2 eggs

3 cups apples - peeled, cored and sliced thinly
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ cup white sugar

Steps:

Steps:

  • Make crust:

  • Beat all ingredients in large bowl until smooth. Pour filling into crust. Smooth top.
  • Make topping:
  • Combine sugar and cinnamon in large bowl. Add apple slices and toss to coat. Arrange atop filling. Sprinkle with almonds.
  • Bake torte until crust is deep golden and apples are tender, about 1 hour 30 minutes. Remove from oven; cool 1 hour. Cover; refrigerate overnight. (Torte can be prepared 3 days ahead. Keep refrigerated.)
  • Run small knife around pan sides to loosen torte. Remove pan sides. Place torte on platter. Serve cold.
