1 (20 ounce) box vanilla wafers
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup pecans
1 1/2 teaspoons cocoa
2 tablespoons white Karo

Steps:

  • we have a food processor that makes crumbling the ingredients up A LOT easier.
  • take the wafers, pecans, cocoa and grind up.
  • add your whiskey and mix (A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY!) (I've tried jack, and crown, and I'm using wild turkey this year. crown has been the best so far).
  • now, the recipe calls for 2 tbsp of Karo syrup, but i can guarantee you, you'll use more. (this is what holds the balls together)
  • add the 2 tbsp and mix and start rolling into 1 inch balls.
  • dip into the powdered sugar and your done. like i mentioned, you'll have to add more syrup as you go, but that's OK, it just makes it taste even sweeter! lol.

AUNT ANNIE'S CHEESE BALL

Aunt Annie's Cheese Ball image

I'm asked to bring this to every family function. This is my great aunt's recipe and when she could no longer make it, I took over. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do. You can use low-fat or fat-free cream cheese for this, but it will not get hard and form a ball. If you make it with low-fat ingredients, place the mixture in a bowl or decorative crock and top with crushed pecans. Cook time does not include chill time.

AUNT MILDRED'S WHISKEY BALLS

Aunt Mildred's Whiskey Balls image

These whiskey balls are similar to a rum ball, just prepared with whiskey. If you don't love whiskey, this recipe may not be for you. But if you like whiskey, definitely give them a try. Ground pecans add a nice texture and flavor. The whiskey is noticeable but not overpowering. With a hint of chocolate, these will be delicious as an after dinner treat for adults.

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 box(es) vanilla wafers, ground fine
2 tablespoon(s) cocoa powder
2 cup(s) pecans, chopped
1 cup(s) powdered sugar
4 tablespoon(s) Karo syrup
1/2 cup(s) whiskey

Steps:

  • Put wafers in food processor grind until very fine.
  • Do the same with pecans.
  • Combine these with the sifted powdered sugar and the cocoa.
  • Add the syrup and whiskey.
  • Mix thoroughly.
  • Shape into balls (about the shape of small meatballs).
  • Roll in the granulated sugar. Store in a tightly covered container. Does not need to be refrigerated.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality whiskey for the best flavor.
  • If you don't have time to chill the dough for 30 minutes, you can skip this step. However, chilling the dough will make it easier to handle and will help the whiskey balls hold their shape better.
  • Be careful not to overmix the dough, as this will make the whiskey balls tough.
  • Roll the dough into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. If the dough is too sticky, you can wet your hands with water to help prevent sticking.
  • Roll the whiskey balls in powdered sugar immediately after dipping them in the melted chocolate. This will help the chocolate set quickly and prevent it from smudging.
  • Store the whiskey balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Conclusion:

Aunt Mildred's Whiskey Balls are a delicious and festive holiday treat that is sure to be a hit with your friends and family. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create these boozy little bites that are perfect for any occasion. So next time you're looking for a sweet and boozy treat, give Aunt Mildred's Whiskey Balls a try!
