AWESOME BROCCOLI MARINARA

This is a great quick version of an Italian traditional side dish in our family all the way from Italy. You can use fresh tomatoes and basil. However, as a mother of four, I opt for the quick method as I'm sure other parents of small ones can appreciate. The kids really love this dish too. Buon Appetito!

Tips:

  • Choose the right broccoli: Look for broccoli with tightly closed florets and a deep green color.
  • Prepare the broccoli properly: Cut the broccoli into 1-inch florets and rinse them well. You can also steam the broccoli for 2-3 minutes to soften it slightly.
  • Use a good quality marinara sauce: The marinara sauce is the key to this dish, so use a sauce that you enjoy. You can make your own marinara sauce or use a store-bought sauce.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: When cooking the broccoli in the marinara sauce, don't overcrowd the pan. This will prevent the broccoli from cooking evenly.
  • Simmer the broccoli until it is tender: Simmer the broccoli in the marinara sauce for 10-15 minutes, or until it is tender. Stir the broccoli occasionally to ensure that it cooks evenly.
  • Serve immediately: Once the broccoli is cooked, serve it immediately with your favorite pasta or rice.

Conclusion:

Broccoli marinara is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. The broccoli is cooked in a flavorful marinara sauce and served over pasta or rice. This dish is also a great way to get your kids to eat their vegetables.
