A quick and easy dessert. We serve this up with homemade ice cream. This is a custard-like dessert normally made with cherries, but we love bananas and think it is better this way. Not recommended to use overly ripe bananas.

Tips:

  • Use ripe bananas for the best flavor and texture. Overripe bananas can be used, but they may result in a clafoutis that is too mushy.
  • If you don't have a blender, you can mash the bananas with a fork or potato masher. However, using a blender will give you a smoother batter.
  • Be careful not to overmix the batter. Overmixing can result in a tough clafoutis.
  • Bake the clafoutis until it is set in the center. A toothpick inserted into the center should come out clean.
  • Let the clafoutis cool for at least 15 minutes before serving. This will allow it to set and firm up.

Conclusion:

Banana clafoutis is a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that is perfect for any occasion. With its simple ingredients and quick preparation time, this dish is sure to be a hit with your family and friends. Serve it warm or at room temperature, and enjoy the sweet and creamy flavor of this classic French dessert.
