My friend Naomi gave me this recipe some years a go. I love it and think it is the prettiest color for a Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner table. I've never added the pecans because my father will not eat nuts but I think they would be very good in it.( Cooking time includes refrigeration time)

BING CHERRY SALAD

Bing Cherry Salad image

This is a salad my great grandma use to make and is one of my favorites to eat during the holiday season. Most people make this creamy by melting the cream cheese or dissolving it in the juice. We actually add small chunks of the cheese after the mix has cooled. So you have a clear gelatin with little white chunks in it. So good!

Tips:

  • Use fresh, ripe cherries: Fresh cherries have a sweeter flavor and are less likely to be tart. If you can't find fresh cherries, you can use frozen or canned cherries, but be sure to thaw them before using.
  • Pit the cherries: You can use a cherry pitter to remove the pits from the cherries. If you don't have a cherry pitter, you can use a paring knife to cut around the pit and then pop it out.
  • Sweeten the cherries to taste: The amount of sugar you add to the cherries will depend on your personal preference. If you like your cherries tart, you can add less sugar. If you like them sweeter, you can add more sugar.
  • Use a good quality gelatin: The type of gelatin you use will affect the texture of your jello. Be sure to use a good quality gelatin that will give you a firm jello.
  • Chill the jello properly: Jello needs to be chilled for at least 4 hours before serving. This will allow the gelatin to set and the jello to firm up.

Conclusion:

Bing cherry jello is a delicious and refreshing dessert that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be customized to your liking. Whether you like your jello tart, sweet, or somewhere in between, there is a bing cherry jello recipe out there for you.
