BLIZZARD MIX

Blizzard Mix image

I like this easy recipe to give out as gifts. It is sort of in the line of a "Chex Mix" but it is white (hence the white chips). The caramels and white chocolate chips as a sweet taste to the saltiness of the peanuts and pretzels. It is crunchy and goes quickly!

Time 22m

Yield 6-8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 cups Crispix cereal
2 cups small pretzels
1 cup dry roasted peanuts
1 cup caramel, coarsely chopped (about 20)
2 cups white chocolate chips (12-oz)

Steps:

  • Spray a 13"x9" baking pan with Pam.
  • Combine cereal, pretzels, peanuts and caramels in large bowl.
  • Microwave white chocolate chips for l minute.
  • Microwave an additional 10-12 seconds stirring until smooth.
  • Pour over cereal mixture.
  • Stir to coat evenly.
  • Spread mixture into baking pan and let stand 20-30 minutes.
  • Break into pieces.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients: The better the ingredients, the better the final product will be. Use real butter, heavy cream, and pure vanilla extract. Avoid using margarine, low-fat dairy products, or artificial flavors.
  • Chill your ingredients before using them: This will help the mixture to thicken faster and smoother. You can chill the milk, cream, and sugar in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before using them.
  • Use a high-powered blender or food processor: This will help to create a smooth and creamy mixture. If you don't have a high-powered blender or food processor, you can use a regular blender or food processor, but you may need to blend or process the mixture for longer.
  • Add the ingredients in the correct order: Adding the ingredients in the correct order will help to ensure that the mixture thickens properly. Always add the milk and cream first, followed by the sugar and vanilla extract. Then, add the ice cubes and blend until smooth.
  • Don't over-blend the mixture: Over-blending the mixture can cause it to become icy and slushy. Blend the mixture just until it is smooth and creamy.
  • Serve the blizzard immediately: Blizzards are best enjoyed immediately after they are made. If you need to store the blizzard, cover it tightly and place it in the freezer for up to 2 hours.

Conclusion:

Blizzards are a delicious and refreshing treat that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. They are perfect for a hot summer day or as a dessert after a meal. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can easily make your own blizzards at home. So next time you're craving a sweet and icy treat, give one of these recipes a try.
