ORANGE SPICE ICED COFFEE
With two hits of orange (once in the syrup and then a few pinches of zest in the drink itself), it's decidedly orange flavored, yes - but not cloyingly so. It's just right. The spices - cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg - lend warm fuzzy notes that help bring this all together in a swirl of creamy, caffeine-packed, entirely-too drinkable pure goodness.

Steps:
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, stir together the sugar and water. Using a paring knife, peel two large (about 2 - 3 inches long) strips of peel from a fresh orange. Be careful to avoid the bitter pith (the white part) as much as possible. Add the orange peel, cinnamon stick, cloves, and nutmeg, to the sugar-water mixture and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for fifteen minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and allow to cool completely. Pour syrup over a sieve into a small bowl or jar and discard solids.
- Keeps refrigerated in an airtight container for up to two weeks.
- Fill a 12 ounce or larger glass with ice. Pour coffee concentrate and syrup over ice, stir in cream, if using. Top with orange zest and a dash of cinnamon. Serve with a straw.

Steps:
- Stud the strip of orange peel with whole cloves, 2 inches apart. In a copper saucepan, place the orange peel, cinnamon sticks, and both liqueurs. Warm them, then stick the end of the orange peel with a fork and hold it up over the pan. Light the liqueur on fire, then using a small ladle, pour the liqueur over the orange peel starting at the top. Let the liqueur drizzle down, spiraling down into the pan. Continue ladling for a few minutes. Douse the flame with a little coffee. Place the orange peel and cinnamon sticks on a side plate. Divide the liquid into 2 glasses, then top them off with more coffee. Garnish with whipped cream and the reserved cinnamon sticks.
BREWED ORANGE CINNAMON COFFEE
I've had this recipe for at least 8 years. It has always intriqued me but I never got around to trying it. Attended a meeting where we were supposed to share homemade gift ideas and decided to take this as one of mine. I'm so glad I did!! I loved it! It smells wonderful brewing and it made a lightly spiced coffee that was just so comforting. Make sure to use the blender to mix it to help keep it from clumping in the coffee pot and not letting the water run through properly. Response to reviewer's question about using dried orange zest: I suspect it would make the coffee bitter. I have only used fresh & have never received any complaints about bitterness even from people who take theirs black.

Tips:
- Choose high-quality coffee beans or ground coffee. Freshly roasted beans will provide the best flavor.
- Use filtered or spring water for the best taste. Tap water can contain impurities that can affect the flavor of the coffee.
- Use the correct grind size for your brewing method. Too fine a grind can make the coffee bitter, while too coarse a grind can make it weak.
- Measure your coffee and water accurately. The ratio of coffee to water is important for getting the right flavor.
- Brew the coffee at the correct temperature. The ideal temperature for brewing coffee is between 195°F and 205°F (90°C and 96°C).
- Let the coffee steep for the proper amount of time. The steeping time will vary depending on the type of coffee and the brewing method.
- Serve the coffee immediately. Coffee is best enjoyed fresh. If you need to store it, keep it in a airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.

Brewed orange cinnamon coffee is a delicious and easy-to-make coffee drink that can be enjoyed hot or cold.
