Provided by littlejordan

Number Of Ingredients 3

1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk (don't get evaporated milk)
2 envelopes unflavored gelatin (that Knox stuff)
4 small boxes (3-ounce) of Jell-O or store brand "gelatin dessert" in different colors

Steps:

  • For each flavor, dissolve one box of jello in one cup of boiling water. Pour into a container and chill (overnight is probably best, but I chilled it 3 hours until firm). After chilling the four flavors, cut them into small blocks. Carefully mix the blocks in a 9 x 13 pan. In a separate bowl, sprinkle 2 envelopes unflavored gelatin into 1/2 cup cold water. After the gelatin blooms, add 1 1/2 cup boiling water and dissolve. Add the can of condensed milk. Stir and cool. Pour cooled milk mixture over jello and chill overnight. Cut into blocks or shapes and serve!

"BROKEN GLASS" JELLO

seen the vid for this but no written instructions so though to do it here, kids might think this kinda cool with all the different colors, I plan on using sugar-free jello and find the sugar-free sweetened condense milk recipe someone was great enough to have posted around x-mas

Time 2h

Number Of Ingredients 4

6 pkg different flavored jello
2 pkg unflavored jello
1 can(s) sweetened condensed milk
8 c hot water

Steps:

  • 1. make each of the flavored jello in separate bowls using only 1c. of hot water in each then refrigerate till set
  • 2. dissolve unflavored jello with 2c. hot water then add the sweetened condensed milk, let sit for a little bit to cool
  • 3. while milk mixture cools unmold flavored jello, dipping in hot water to loosen if needed, cut into cubes and then place into a 9X13 cake pan, scattering the colors around
  • 4. milk mixture should be cooled enough to pour over the cubed jello in the cake pan, put in fridge to set then cut and serve how ever you like

Tips:

  • Choose a sturdy glass: A thick, heavy glass is less likely to break than a thin, delicate one. You can also use a plastic cup or bowl if you're worried about glass shards.
  • Score the glass: Use a sharp knife or a glass cutter to score a line around the inside of the glass, about 1 inch from the top. This will help the glass break evenly.
  • Wrap the glass in a damp cloth: This will help to prevent the glass from shattering into small pieces.
  • Tap the glass with a hammer: Use a small hammer to tap the glass gently along the score line. Start at one end of the line and work your way around the glass.
  • Break the glass: Once you've tapped the glass all the way around, it should break into two or more pieces. Be careful when handling the broken glass.
  • Rinse the glass shards: Rinse the glass shards thoroughly with water to remove any food or debris.
  • Add the jello mix: Follow the directions on the jello mix package to prepare the jello. Pour the jello into the broken glass pieces.
  • Refrigerate the jello: Refrigerate the jello for at least 4 hours, or until it is set.

Conclusion:

Broken glass jello is a fun and easy dessert that is perfect for any occasion. It's a great way to use up leftover jello, and it's always a hit with kids. Just be sure to follow the safety tips above to avoid any accidents.
