1/2 cup margarine
1 1/2 cup light brown sugar
2 eggs
2 1/2 cups sifted flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup walnuts
6 Tablespoons butter, burnt (melt butter in pan until it just turns brown)
2 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
4-5 teaspoons hot water

Steps:

  • 1. Cream margarine and add light brown sugar 2. Add eggs and vanilla 3. Sift together flour, soda and salt and add to above alternately with the commercial sour cream. 4. Add chopped walnuts 5. Chill one hour at least and between bakings. 6. Put teaspoons of cookie dough on greased tray - leave room to spread. 7. Bake 400 degrees 8 - 10 minutes. Do not overbake. Ice when cool. 8. 1 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
2/3 cup walnuts, chopped
4 tablespoons butter
1 cup confectioners' sugar, sifted
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 -2 tablespoon hot water

Steps:
