BUTTERY,CINNAMON,SKILLET APPLES ON DEVILS FOOD
Skillet Cinnamon Apples on a Devils Food cake topped with whipped cream!...YUM! Actually any unfrosted cake or vanilla pound cake will work. I had the apples and a boxed cake, so I decided to make a desert for a friend, that had to put down her doggie. She loves chocolate, and I am sure this recipe will make her feel a wee bit...

Tips:
- Choose the right apples: Firm, tart apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp hold their shape well and provide a nice contrast to the sweet cinnamon-sugar filling.
- Use unsalted butter: This allows you to control the amount of salt in the dish and prevents it from becoming too salty.
- Don't overcrowd the pan: Give the apples enough space to cook evenly and avoid steaming.
- Cook the apples over medium-low heat: This will help them soften without burning.
- Stir the apples frequently: This will help them cook evenly and prevent them from sticking to the pan.
- Add the cinnamon and sugar mixture towards the end of cooking: This will help prevent the sugar from burning.
- Serve the apples warm: They can be served on their own, with ice cream, or yogurt.
Conclusion:
Buttery Cinnamon Skillet Apples are an easy and delicious dessert that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. They are perfect for a quick weeknight treat or a special occasion dessert. The sweet and tangy apples are complemented perfectly by the warm cinnamon and sugar filling, and the buttery crust adds a touch of richness.
