1 stick butter or margarine
1 pound (1 box) dark brown sugar
3 eggs
1 cups plain flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chopped pecans

Steps:

  • Cream the butter and sugar. Beat in the 3 eggs until fluffy. Add the flour, salt and baking powder. Add the vanilla and the chopped nuts last. Place in a 9-by-13-inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cut into squares or bars.

1 (16 ounce) box dark brown sugar
2 1/2 cups sifted self rising flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts or 1 cup pecans
sifted powdered sugar, for dusting

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350.
  • Grease a 13x9 inch pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl mix the eggs,brown sugar,flour and vanilla together with mixer on low speed until well blended.
  • Fold in the nuts.
  • Pour the batter into prepared pan.
  • Bake until golden brown on top,about 25 minutes.
  • Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
  • Cool.
  • Cut into squares.

1/4 cup butter, melted
2 cups packed light brown sugar
2 large eggs
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups sifted flour (sift before measuring)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup pecans

Steps:
