Tips:
- Mise en Place: Before you start cooking, make sure you have all your ingredients prepped and measured. This will help you stay organized and avoid scrambling during the cooking process.
- Choose ripe pears: Ripe pears will have a sweet, juicy flavor and will hold their shape well when cooked. Avoid pears that are too hard or too soft.
- Use a cast-iron skillet: A cast-iron skillet is the best choice for this recipe because it retains heat well and evenly. If you don't have a cast-iron skillet, you can use a nonstick skillet, but be sure to adjust the cooking times accordingly.
- Don't overcrowd the pan: When searing the chicken, make sure you don't overcrowd the pan. If you do, the chicken will not brown properly and will steam instead of sear.
- Cook the chicken until it is cooked through: Use a meat thermometer to ensure that the chicken is cooked to an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Make the chutney ahead of time: The chutney can be made up to 3 days in advance. This will allow the flavors to develop and meld together.
- Serve the chicken with rice or roasted vegetables: This dish is delicious served with rice or roasted vegetables. You can also serve it with a side salad.
Conclusion:
This chicken with pear, sage, and skillet chutney is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. The chicken is tender and juicy, the pears are sweet and flavorful, and the chutney is the perfect finishing touch. This dish is sure to be a hit with your family and friends.
