Number Of Ingredients 11

1 (8-oz) package cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup sour cream
3/4 cup mayonnaise
1/2 tsp garlic powder
3 Tbsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp hot sauce
1 jalapeño, seeded and finely chopped
1/3 cup red bell pepper, finely chopped
1/3 cup parsley, finely chopped
4 green onions, thinly sliced
12 oz crabmeat, drained and flaked

Steps:

  • Place the cream cheese in the bowl of a stand mixer and fit the mixer with a paddle attachment. Mix until creamy and add the sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic powder, lemon juice, hot sauce, jalapeño, red pepper, parsley, and green onions. Mix until combined. Remove the bowl from the stand mixer and gently fold in the crab. Serve (or refrigerate for up to 2 days).

Tips:

  • Use fresh crab meat. Fresh crab meat has a sweeter, more delicate flavor than canned crab meat. If you can't find fresh crab meat, you can use canned crab meat, but be sure to rinse it well and drain it before using.
  • Don't overmix the dip. Overmixing the dip will make it tough. Mix the ingredients just until they are combined.
  • Chill the dip for at least 30 minutes before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld together and the dip to firm up.
  • Serve the dip with a variety of crackers, chips, or vegetables. Some popular options include Ritz crackers, tortilla chips, and celery sticks.

Conclusion:

Chilled crab dip is a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. It is made with fresh crab meat, cream cheese, mayonnaise, and a variety of seasonings. The dip is then chilled and served with a variety of crackers, chips, or vegetables. Chilled crab dip is a popular appetizer at parties and gatherings, and it is also a great way to use up leftover crab meat.
