Categories     Dessert

Time 50m

Yield 24 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 cup butter, melted, but not cooled
2 cups sugar
3/4 cup baking cocoa
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 eggs
1 1/4 cups flour
1 cup dried cherries, cut in half
1 (11 ounce) bag ghirardelli white chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Grease a 13x9x2- inch (or similar sized) pan.
  • Stir together melted butter, sugar, cocoa, vanilla, and baking powder.
  • I just use a rubber spatula for stirring; a wooden spoon should work just as well, or the mixer too.
  • Then add an egg, stir it in well, add 1/3 cup flour, stir it in, and repeat until all eggs and flour have been added.
  • The last flour addition will only be a quarter cup.
  • If using a mixer, add all the eggs together, mix in and then add all of the flour.
  • Make sure it's all mixed together thoroughly.
  • Add the cherries and white chocolate chips and stir just until mixed.
  • Pour the batter into the pan and spread it out evenly to the edges.
  • Bake for 30 minutes, and then check.
  • They should be done by then, but they may take another minute or two, but be careful not to overbake.
  • Try to let them cool for half an hour before cutting.

DOUBLE CHOCOLATE CHERRY BROWNIES

Double Chocolate Cherry Brownies image

I love these and when I bring them into work they do not last long. Also a favorite request at barbques! If you like marachino cherries give these a try, the juice gives them a good flavor and they will not dry out like most brownies, the cherries keep them moist along with the chocolate chips.

Provided by Eileen Haddock

Categories     Chocolate

Time 1h10m

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 box brownie mix
1 jar(s) marachino cherries
1 c chocolate chips
1 pkg milk chocolate frosting
1/2 c chopped pecans

Steps:

  • 1. Make brownies according to pkg instructions except drain the cherry juice off of the cherries and use the juice as a substitute for the liquid ( milk or water)Chop up the cherries (save some for the frosting) in halves and add them to the brownie mix. Turn half of the mix into the bottom of a long greased pan and sprinkle the chocolate chips on top of the batter, then cover the chips with the rest of the batter.
  • 2. Cook using heat temperatures and time on the brownie box. Once the brownies have cooled, ice the brownies with milk chocolate frosting and top with remaining cherries, sprinkle nuts on top of the cherries. Yummy!

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients for the best flavor. Dark chocolate with a cocoa content of at least 70% is ideal, and fresh cherries will add a burst of sweetness and tartness.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing will result in a tough, dense brownie. Mix just until the ingredients are well combined.
  • Bake the brownies at a moderate temperature. A temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit is ideal, as it will allow the brownies to bake evenly without drying out.
  • Let the brownies cool completely before cutting them. This will help to prevent them from crumbling.
  • Top the brownies with your favorite toppings. Chocolate chips, nuts, or powdered sugar are all great options.

Conclusion:

Chocolate cherry brownies are a classic dessert that is perfect for any occasion. They are rich, fudgy, and packed with flavor. With their combination of chocolate and cherries, these brownies are sure to be a hit with everyone who tries them. So next time you're looking for a special treat, give these chocolate cherry brownies a try. You won't be disappointed.
