MICROWAVE APPLES AND CINNAMON (FOR SMALL CHILDREN)
This is more for the older baby that has graduated to finger foods. Like around 1 yr. old and older. It's super easy and quick and mom gets to control how sweet (or not sweet) it is. Just be sure to cool completely before serving. (Don't wan't to burn little ones hands or mouth!) I've even been guilty of snacking on this myself! I use about a medium sized apple that is good for baking.

Steps:
- Peel, core and dice apple into bite sized (small) pieces.
- Place apple pieces in microwave safe dish and add 2 tablespoons water.
- Microwave apple on High 1-3 minutes.
- Check on it and stir every 20-30 seconds or so until it reaches desired tenderness.
- When apple is cooked and soft enough for baby to eat, remove from microwave and sprinkle with as much or as little sugar and cinnamon as you wish. (My personal experience has been that the younger the child the more bland they like it but it's up to you!).
- Let apple cool completely or until slightly warmer than room temperature and serve.

Tips:
- Choose the right apples: Use firm, tart apples for the best flavor and texture. Granny Smith and Honeycrisp are both good choices.
- Slice the apples thinly: This will help them cook evenly in the microwave.
- Use a microwave-safe bowl: Make sure the bowl is large enough to hold the apples and the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Cook the apples in short bursts: This will help to prevent them from becoming mushy.
- Stir the apples halfway through cooking: This will help to ensure that they cook evenly.
- Add the cinnamon-sugar mixture after the apples are cooked: This will help to prevent the mixture from burning.
- Serve the apples warm: They can be served on their own or topped with ice cream, yogurt, or granola.
Conclusion:
This cinnamon apple snack is a quick and easy way to enjoy a healthy and delicious treat. It can be made in just a few minutes in the microwave, and it's a great way to use up leftover apples. The apples are tender and flavorful, and the cinnamon-sugar mixture adds a delicious sweetness. This snack is perfect for breakfast, lunch, or a snack, and it's also a great way to get your kids to eat their fruits.
