I got this recipe from a good friend and co-worker Samantha. She was born in Puerto Rico. This drink is a traditional from Puerto Rico and is delicious. It is always made by Puerto Rican families around the Christmas and New Year holidays, but you can enjoy it anytime of the year. It will keep forever in the refrigerator. Steps:
- Shake large can of Bordens Egg Nogg very well before opening. Add cans of Coconut cream and coconut milk, tsp vanilla and a little cinnamon. Blend everything very very well.
- Next add your Rum 1 1/2 to 2 cups white rum. Blend again very well put into a clean empty wine bottle cover with a cork and refrigerate over night. Can be a served the next day but the longer it sets the better. You can use a little less rum if you don't like to strong of a drink. Serve in little cordial glasses. Salute Enjoy. Will keep in the refrigerator forever if it lasts that long. Makes a nice Christmas gift during the holidays.

- Use fresh coconut milk for the best flavor. You can find it in cans or tetra paks at most grocery stores.
- If you don't have coconut cream, you can make your own by simmering coconut milk with sugar and cornstarch.
- Feel free to adjust the amount of sugar to your taste. You can also use a sugar substitute if you prefer.
- If you want a smoother coquito, strain it through a fine-mesh sieve before serving.
- Garnish your coquito with grated nutmeg, cinnamon sticks, or a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar.
