Categories     Main Dishes

Yield 8

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 onion chopped
1 bell pepper chopped
2 sticks butter
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 cup milk
2 tbsp flour
1 tsp salt
1 pound package Kraft jalapeno cheese
2 pounds crawfish
1 (16 oz) large bag broad egg noodles

Steps:

  • Cook noodles according to package directions.
  • In a large saucepan, melt one stick of butter; sauté the onion and bell pepper. Add in the mushroom soup. Cook on medium heat for 10 minutes.
  • In a large glass bowl, combine 1 stick of butter, milk, flour and salt. Microwave for 2 minutes. Remove and stir. Microwave again for 2 more minutes then add cheese. Let the cheese melt and then stir the mixture.
  • In the large saucepan, combine both of the mixtures together and add the crawfish. Cook on medium to low heat for 20 minutes. Add the noodles. Mix together and serve.

Tips:

  • Choose the right crawfish: Look for crawfish that are bright red and have a firm texture. Avoid crawfish that are brown or have a slimy texture.
  • Clean the crawfish properly: Remove the heads and tails of the crawfish, and then devein them. Rinse the crawfish thoroughly under cold water.
  • Season the crawfish well: Crawfish can be seasoned with a variety of spices, such as Old Bay seasoning, Cajun seasoning, or garlic powder. Be sure to season the crawfish liberally.
  • Cook the crawfish properly: Crawfish can be boiled, steamed, or fried. Be sure to cook the crawfish until they are cooked through. The meat should be opaque and firm.
  • Add the crawfish to the fettuccine at the end of the cooking process: This will help to prevent the crawfish from becoming overcooked.

Conclusion:

Crawfish fettuccine is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a special occasion or a casual weeknight meal. By following the tips above, you can make sure that your crawfish fettuccine is flavorful and cooked to perfection.
