Tips:

  • Use fresh or frozen corn and peas. Fresh corn and peas are the best choices for this recipe, as they will have the best flavor. If you are using frozen vegetables, be sure to thaw them before using.
  • Use a good quality cream style corn. Not all cream style corns are created equal. Look for a brand that uses fresh corn and has a good consistency.
  • Don't overcook the vegetables. The vegetables should be cooked until they are tender, but not mushy. Overcooked vegetables will lose their flavor and texture.
  • Season the dish to taste. Add salt, pepper, and any other desired seasonings to taste. You may also want to add a pinch of sugar to help balance out the flavors.
  • Serve the dish immediately. Creamed corn with peas is best served immediately after it is made. The vegetables will start to lose their flavor and texture if they are allowed to sit for too long.

Conclusion:

Creamed corn with peas is a classic Southern dish that is easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser. It is a great side dish for any meal, and it can also be served as a main course with a side of bread or rice. With its creamy texture, sweet flavor, and pop of color, creamed corn with peas is sure to be a hit at your next gathering.
